In a Disney film 1

The Horned King, the villain of the relatively unknown dark Disney film "The Black Cauldron".

Has the dubious honor of saying the word "kill" for the first time in a disney film. Tough other characters do say that they might die many times in the film
Incidentally, this image is from the scene where he says it.
Also, he had quite the graphic death : his skin got literally PEELED of his bones.
dunno if he had flesh tough, he look pretty undead-ish to begin with.

The film "The Black Cauldron" is the 25th film and is known to be one of the darkest Disney films that ever graced movie screens and it has quite the history.
This film is also the first animated Disney film to ever use CGI.
At the time Disney tried to do a film that targeted the young adults and this was the answer. But production happened in the middle of a power struggle and the new chief didn't want a disney film to be PG-13 and as such discarded many scenes.

Of those, four are quite infamous
- Taran, the hero, sliced trough the guards when he first got his sword
- The princess, Eilonwy, was supposed to have her clothes torn when the party is captured by the horned king
- When the horned king raised his undead army, the cauldron born, one of the skeletons was supposed to gut and then behead one of the horned king former guards.
- Also, and the more infamous, another guard was literally DISSOLVED by the green mist used to raise the undead army. More on that latter.

Also, this film doesn't have a singing number.

Because this film is so dark, the film bombed at the box office.
It cost 25 millions to make it but it only earned 10 millions. Other account say 44 millions cost vs 22 millions earnings but nonetheless : disney lost money.

Because of all of the above, Disney like to pretend this film never exist



The black cauldron is still property of Disney and i wish it would be in a kingdom heart game though its just wishful thinking.
